Welcome to Learn, Play, and Grow Child and Adolescent Counseling Center, proudly serving families in Morgantown, West Virginia and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. We are dedicated to providing a warm, caring, and evidence-based environment where children and teens can navigate big feelings, heal from trauma, and thrive.
Deep expertise rooted in compassionate care
With 28 years of clinical expertise, our practice is founded on dedicated trauma-informed clinical social work. Holding a Doctoral degree in social work with a specific focus on trauma-informed practice, I specialize in helping children and families navigate complex life events and heal deeply. Our background spans public schools, community mental health organizations, psychiatric inpatient facilities, and university-based clinics, offering an extensive understanding of systems and support services. We also bring specialized experience in working closely with children diagnosed with autism and other neurodivergent conditions.
A warm, collaborative, and evidence-based approach
Therapy begins with warm, open, and authentic engagement. We view play as an essential therapeutic language for young minds, integrating intentional play therapy techniques so children feel safe, understood, and comfortable. We partner transparently with parents and clients to explore evidence-based interventions and find the right fit for your family. Our practice is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), certified to conduct ADOS-2 autism assessments, and integrates proven tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
